Dear Waters Landing Families:
I hope you have a great start to your summer vacation! We have been busy with our Leadership and PBIS meetings–all to get ready for the next school year. The building is undergoing some major transformations. Construction crews are busy at work tearing out the old heating/air conditioning units and digging for the new foundations. This is just a reminder that the building is closed for the summer. If you need something specific, please call our main number (301-353-0915) ahead of time to talk to Mrs. Fish or me. We’ll do our best to help you out.
Following this message is the list of summer events from Montgomery County’s PTA. Some events are free. All sound interesting.
I assigned our students homework for the summer. Please help them complete their assignments.
Read every day. Research says that ‘eyes on print’ help increase our ability to read!
Share a smile with at least one person every day. Research says that smiling not only helps our mental attitude but is also helpful in our developing our physical wellbeing.
Math and Reading summer packets. Prizes will be handed out for those who complete and return the summer packets. Try the strategy that your child can pick any page in the packet to do. You don’t have to do it in order. Keeping them interested in learning will help with the retention of information over the summer. The public library is also running a summer reading program.
Be physically active every day. Exercise helps our mental and physical wellbeing. Get out and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.
Have an enjoyable summer!
